Alvin Hall is an internationally renowned financial educator, broadcaster, and author of the acclaimed work of narrative nonfiction, Driving the Green Book: A Road Trip Through the Living History of Black Resistance (2023). His podcast series of the same name was produced by Macmillan Podcasts and received the 2021 Ambie Award for the "Best History Podcast" and the 2021 New York Festivals Gold Award for" Best Narrative Documentary Podcast.” His short documentary about the Green Book has received multiple awards.

Alvin’s work in radio includes "The Green Book" (BBC Radio 4), "Alvin Hall Goes Back to School" (The Takeaway, PRI with WNYC, winner of a New York Association of Black Journalists), and "Who Sold the Soul?" (BBC Radio 4, winner of a Radio Academy Bronze Award,), "Jay-Z: From Brooklyn to the Boardroom" (BBC Radio 4, winner of a Wincott Award for Financial Journalism and Broadcasting). While hosting the pioneering BBC television series "Your Money or Your Life", he authored a number of bestsellers, including You and Your Money: It’s More than Just the Numbers, as well as the children’s book Show Me the Money, which has been published in 20 foreign language editions. His book Your Money or Your Life received the WHSmith People’s Choice Award in the UK and was nominated for an NAACP Image Award in the US. 

Alvin lives in New York City, where he designs and teaches classes about the investment markets for financial services companies, banks, regulatory authorities, as well as information and technology vendors. He is also on the Acquisitions Committee of the Studio Museum in Harlem.
