Camonghne Felix is a poet, memoirist, and political strategist. Her memoir Dyscalculia: A Love Story of Epic Miscalculation (2023) was hailed by TIME Magazine and Vogue as one of the most anticipated books of 2023 and top memoirs of 2023. Her poetry debut Build Yourself a Boat (2019), was long-listed for the 2019 National Book Award in Poetry, shortlisted for the PEN/Open Book Awards, and shortlisted for the Lambda Literary Awards. Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Academy of American Poets, Harvard Review, LitHub, The New Yorker, PEN America, Poetry Magazine, Freeman’s Journal and elsewhere. Her next full length work, Let the Poets Govern, is forthcoming from One World, Random House. 

In addition to her writing, Camonghne has worked as a communications strategist for local and national political campaigns and organizations. She served as National Director of Surrogate Communications for Elizabeth Warren’s 2020 presidential campaign and was featured in a New York Times profile that celebrated her ability to “intertwin[e] politics, public life and poetry to create works that vault over conventional language and avoid phrases that have lost meaning through overuse.” Following the election, Camonghne went on to direct Strategic Communications for Blue State before joining the faculty of The New School as an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing.
